HFLS Teaching Philosophy and EEPP Pedagogy

EEPP Pedagogy stands for:

Encouraging thinking in teaching (focusing on thinking creatively and morally),

Evoking enjoyment in teaching (focusing on learning with fun and desire),

Pursuing application in teaching (focusing on providing more opportunities to use English)

Promoting competition in teaching (focusing on competition in groups to motivate learners)

The purpose of the EEPP Pedagogy is to foster good moral character while developing the student’s creativity and intellect in order to produce a well-rounded individual of quality.

The EEPP Pedagogy is practical, interesting, flexible, passionate, informative, rigorous and effective.

EEPP Pedagogy has passed the achievement assessment (for both junior and senior high school) of the National Science Research Association. Her project of Promoting EEPP Pedagogy was awarded the first prize of National Excellent Education Science Research Achievement. Her work EEPP Pedagogy-the Source of Vitality in English Teaching was also awarded the first prize in the First China English Teaching Methods Forum held by the National Central Education Research Institute.


EEPP pedagogy was developed through years of classroom experience and practice. It is a method that fits well in current classrooms, and it is suitable for all-round education. Applying the EEPP pedagogy provides a model so students enjoy learning. They learn how to learn and to be creative.  For the teacher EEPP provides a model so they enjoy teaching. Teachers not only teach knowledge, but they teach students to develop good moral character. EEPP pedagogy produces well-rounded, high quality students.

Jihong English Chicken Soup for the Soul (JECSS Course)

JECSS facilitates the intermarriage of moral education and English instruction. The purpose of the JECSS Course is to foster good moral character while learning English in order to produce a well-rounded individual of quality. The students learn western culture through successful and moving stories, so that they enjoy moral education as they develop their English language skills. Consequently, the students will become more sunny, healthy, powerful, and generous, as well as being world citizens with the spirit of Responsibility, Gratitude, Compassion and Endeavor.
